The Short and Skinny

Go back. Multiple people working on a project without GitHub is too tedious.

Bitcoin SV GitHub activity : bitcoincashSV

I think there are a team of people at nChain working on it like Steve Shadders, Dan Connolly and others who from my understanding prefer to stay out of the public lense. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, but BSV being worked on in private is quite worrying in my opinion. I don't see it as negative if they open the sources later.

This means that other projects can't copy the optimizations and BSV will have an advantage, when they open it. Therefore, the Bitcoin SV project welcomes engagement from other implementation developer teams that choose to support the consensus changes proposed by Bitcoin SV. The Bitcoin SV team invites collaboration with those teams and encourages cooperation on testing and consensus code sharing. What exactly worries you about it? Things are routinely published, it sounds like they recently published things 12 weeks ago.

People need to realize that devs don't run the system, miners do, and this is not a developer social collectivist community project. Developers are supposed to be hired by miners and do what the miners are asking. This was something that ABC did not understand and they wanted it to be a developer dictatorship, or some type of developer co-op. Yes but it was also Satoshi's opinion.

And it is common sense, because other systems degrade and become corrupt and can't be sound money. People with a different opinion should start their own system from scratch and not try to usurp Satoshi;s design and claim their sham is Bitcoin. Yes I think this paper by nChain is very important and enlightening on the subject, it shows why miners must run the system. If devs want to run a dictatorship and change the protocol then it can't be sound money, the system degrades into corruption.

Just like Gold is sound money because it can't be easily changed. This is why Satoshi said Bitcoin is set in stone , so it can't be changed. If it can't be changed then it takes away power. Craig has a good piece on that. The nChain paper also shows that if Bitcoin were based on democratic voting systems or 1 user 1 vote as many falsely believe it degrades into oligarchy, this is why Bitcoin is designed with 1 cpu 1 vote where a cpu is an economic resource.

Now you see people like Blue Matt of Core at the "magical crypto conference" making presentations about how miners are bad and we need to get rid of mining. It is pretty bizarre how they just get away with completely changing the system, and still con people to believe it is Bitcoin. There is a lot going on BSV. Also anyone could today start their pwn node software that runs BSV so long as it adheres to the protocol. This is how the envelope keeps being pushed. It makes contribution from the community impossible. It reeks of closed source thinking.

Something people do when control and secrecy is more important than building and engaging a community. They are closed source until all protocol changes have been made and no hard fork is required. Then they open it as open source.

Aside from nChain working on the protocol. You have a lot of independent projects that once the protocol is "set in stone" will interact with the blockchain. Also consider that all the functions that the miners should accomplished that are named in the whitepaper can be made separate in the sense that a miner could apply all his resources to specialize in one task, as long as is profitable that is the main key in bsv.
